As far as acupuncture goes, Dr. Tobin and the other acupuncturist on staff Dr. Caldwell are the best I've seen, and I have quite a bit to compare them to. For a period of about a year and a half) I was needing a lot of acupuncture and tried many places. I am Chinese and speak Chinese, so I was able to try many Chinese speaking places. Although some other acupuncturists I tried were good acupuncturists (from feeling my pulse, they could get a pretty good idea of what I was dealing with and what acupuncture points would help), none of them did all the muscle testing that Dr. Tobin does, and in my experience, that is hugely important when prescribing herbs of any sort. Most acupuncturists will just listen to your symptoms and prescribe you herbs based on what they've learned should be helpful for that condition. However, not everyone does well with Chinese herbs. It can be overpowering for some people, and an acupuncturist who isn't muscle testing you has no way of knowing whether your body can take it or not. They're just going off of their book knowledge. In my experience, this can be VERY detrimental. For example, I was seeing a Chinese acupuncturist for a while who was extremely pushy about me taking some detox herbs that were making me feel so weak I could hardly take a walk outside. When I would tell this doctor how I felt, she didn't care, she just stuck with what she knew. However, when Dr. Tobin muscle tested me it was very clear that my intestines could not take those herbs. What a difference applied kinesiology can make to illuminating what is and isn't actually going to help your individual body at the place it's at at the moment!

Some other unique things that Dr. Tobin offers is a type of computer program she has called Evox (a type of biofeedback program) which she can use to help you with emotional clearing around specific issues (something that can be exactly what you need sometimes, but what acupuncture can't accomplish). It also can do a lot of other things such as customize flower essences for you (I've found that extremely helpful at times) and a whole lot more.

Something else really great about Dr. Tobin is that she has taken courses in Western nutrition and supplements, which is not something every acupuncturist has done. The average acupuncturist only knows about the Chinese herbs and nutrition. But if your body doesn't take well to the Chinese herbs, they have no alternative to offer you and most aren't even open to you taking other stuff besides Chinese herbs. But Dr. Tobin offers supplements such as Standard Process, Apex Energetics, homeopathics (she has a degree in homeopathy as well), and some other companies that offer really high quality supplements that you can't buy at the local healthfood store. Some of the supplements she carries have made a TREMENDOUS difference for me, and I still take some of them to date. They are things that have given relief to longstanding VERY uncomfortable symptoms, that I had previously just lived with with for years and years, never having found any pharmaceutical or natural supplement that gave any relief. In addition, I have to add that I do feel that most people (especially someone dealing with a longstanding chronic condition) isn't getting or able to absorb 100% of what they need nutritionwise from their food. I do feel that vitamin, mineral, fat, or probiotic supplements can be very helpful during the healing process and even afterwards. Dr. Tobin carries very high quality ones that only healthcare professionals have access to, and she can muscle test to see what you actually need, and how much of it you need. This is something the average acupuncturist does not offer.

Dr. Caldwell, the other acupuncturist on staff, doesn't have the training that Dr. Tobin does in Evox and the Western supplements, but as for acupuncture and Chinese medicine goes, she's just as knowledgeable and helpful as anyone can be. In fact she used to be an acupuncture professor at a nearby Acupuncture school. So she really knows her stuff and since she has the teaching background, she's excellent at explaining things to you (which is something many acupuncturists don't do because Chinese medicine uses such a different language, it takes a lot of patience and experience doing so, to be able to explain it well to a layperson).

Truly, of all the acupuncture clinics I've been to in my lifetime, this is the best I've experienced and if acupuncture or natural supplements is the path you're needing for your healing journey, I highly recommend Tobin Acupuncture.
